Loveliest Tree Stamp Set

Long, long ago (2001 or thereabouts), I fell in love with a stamp set called Lovely As A Tree by Stampin up… It was available for a very long time, but that did not change how I felt about it and used it for many cards, framed art and Christmas greetings. It was hard once it retired… but I have all my memories. I was so excited to see the Loveliest Tree stamp set come out in the 2024-25 Annual Catalog.

Loveliest Tree

For last week’s Marvelous Monday Facebook Live, I finally took some time to play with the Loveliest Tree stamp set and compared it to my favorite framed art using Lovely As A Tree retired stamp set. I still miss Mellow Moss cardstock and Chocolate Chip ink as well, but worked to recreate my framed art from 2001.

To create this card, I used the Early Espresso ink pad to stamp the tree on a 4”x2-3/4” Very Vanilla CS and then using a Sponge Dauber to add color to the tree trunk and to distress the edges of the cardstock layer. I then used Old Olive ink with a Sponge Dauber to add color to the tree foliage.

I glued this layer to a 4-1/8”x2-7/8” layer of Basic Black CS. I took a 4”x-5-1/4” layer of Old Olive CS and stamped the leaf stamp using Versamark ink as a subtle background. I then glued it to a 4-1/8”x5-3/8” layer of Basic Black, then glued to an A2 card base in Very Vanilla.

For this card, I used the same elements as before, but for the tree color, I used Watercolor Pencil Assortment 1 in Old Olive and Pecan Pie. I really love this version and feel like it most closely resembles my 2001 framed art piece.

I cannot wait for fall as I see this one being a well loved stamp set going forward. My how-to video and more pics available below…
