Trees For Sale

Snowy Christmas Greetings!

Ok, so it is still August and heat wave after heat wave has been rolling in, but there is something about creating a winter scene in my cards that just cools me off (in a good way!) My August stamp class enjoyed making this card. It was easy for beginners and still fun for my more experienced stampers.

Items Needed:

Tahitian Tide Classic Stamp Pad #159210

Soft Succulent Classic Stamp Pad #155778

Evening Evergreen Classic Stamp Pad #155576

Basic Borders Dies #15558 (for cloud template)

Blending Brush

Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics #156310 (in white)

Note Cards & Envelopes – White #159232

Basic White CS #159276 – 4-7/8”x3-3/8” (card front)

Glossy Dots

This little sweet little Christmas card was made with the Note Card & Envelope. I love snowy hillside scenes and the Trees for Sale stamp set from the July-Dec 2022 Mini Catalog makes fabulous trees! Add in some stunning fluffy clouds (like this video), and a greeting… this card is just too cute!

Using the Basic Borders Dies, cut out a 6” long piece of scrap cardstock with the cloud outline to create a cloud template. With the 3-3/8”x4-7/8” Basic White card front, lay the cloud template clouds near the top of the piece of CS about a ½” from the top, then lightly inking the Blending Brush, carefully add Tahitian Tide ink to the top of the card until the sky is blue enough to outline the clouds. Bringing the template cloud down about ¾”, careful add the ink from the die cut cloud side to carefully add enough color to the sky to outline the cloud tops again. Repeat one more time a little lower. Add more color to the bottom of the card for the snow color. Watch my video for more instructions.

Stamp largest tree background in Soft Succulent, then add two smaller trees on each side. Add darker tree detail and sentiment in Evening Evergreen. Add card front to card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Apply the Pearlized Enamel to the tree branches and then create a snowy hillside by drawing in snow topped hills to the right of the trees with the Pearlized Enamel. Add the Glossy Dots to your card front. Be sure to add the trees in the Tahitian Tide ink with the Blending Brush to the envelope and then add more trees.

This card is simple yet charming! Happy early Christmas!
